SBSA PLAYROOM

Come Out + Play.

Putting the ‘play’ into ‘workplace’. The brief was simple. Creating a workspace like Google - opening up a whole world of experiences.

Playroom is the User Experience LAB of Standard Bank, used as an innovation hub for off site team training & workshops. The strategy was to provide a facility that took employees out for their everyday environment into a space that would facilitate innovative thinking.

Each room is playfully themed according to its function and purpose. Spaces ranged from focus groups, training spaces to private work pods.  De-compression rooms with lockers helped disrupt corporate pattern giving the users or conference goers a chance to change their corporate wear for informal comfortable dress - opening the mindset to innovate.

Coloured glass doors divide the central auditorium space into smaller conference spaces adjusting the capacity to the needs of the group. An informal but festive breakout space was designed outside with a food truck, ready for off-site caterers serving an event or conference.
