CLAYTON HOTEL
We fulfilled the role of Architect and lead consultant as part of the professional team on the upgrade & extension of Dalata’s largest hotel with a total of (609) bedrooms.
The €17m project was delivered by main contractor JJ Rhatigan with the new accommodation built in sequential stages; a detailed construction programme being implemented in two phases in conjunction with the on-going requirements of a live/operational hotel environment.
The central idea to planning the new bedroom extensions was for the new elements to work with the bold architectural style and form of the existing buildings, bringing together key aspects of the prominent stone/glass facade. The architectural aesthetic provides an appropriate level of contrast in both tone & material using Zinc/Metal Cladding to define the new extension.
All Bedrooms are designed to meet Clayton’s high standard of 4 Star accommodation with room type adapted to meet current regulations and to suit occupancy/brand requirements. A new self-contained restaurant ‘The Italian Kitchen’ is incorporated within the ground floor, along with kitchen, bar, toilet & ancillary facilities to help support/differentiate the hotels Food & beverage proposition. Existing function areas have been re-modelled & reconfigured to provided (2) new multifunctional rooms c/w acoustic/movable dividing partition, AV facilities, small dispensing bar and storage rooms.
The expansion of the hotel helps to strengthen the Clayton brand and differentiates the offer within what is becoming an increasingly competitive airport location.
